In what ways do we grow?

Albert Einstein once said:

“Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death”

We would like to know, in what ways do you grow?

Undoubtedly, we grow in different aspects: intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically. In my opinion, we undergo this process mostly alone. There’s no one to experience it all with us. Although some may be able to help us along the way, we are, in fact, the only ones in charge of our decisions and actions.
How hard and, at the same time, how great it is to pluck up the courage to face it all and seize the chance to learn from every single step.
That is, for me, growth.

We are children.
Everyone of us.
We are seeds.
And we can bloom.

It's just sometimes, within the salty flavor of tears, we start to close our own wings and forget how to fly.

Growth, to grow, it's to have the courage to walk to that light that will make us so much more, even though we have no clue where our feet will end up... ;P

And for Andrea, about courage i will leave her this quote i like:
"courage does not always roar.
sometimes courage is that little voice
at the end of the day saying,
'I will try again tomorrow'"
- mary anne radmacher

I completely agree! Thank you for commenting! I must say, however, though we may at times close our wings during falling salty tears, forgetting how to fly, for me, it is immediately following those times when I feel I have made the largest leaps and bounds of growth.

I leave you with another quote...
"...When we long for life without...difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure." -- Peter Marshall

Here goes a poem by Emily Dickinson. It gives me hope and urges me forward to improve and keep growing. How does it make you feel?

All but Death, can be Adjusted—
Dynasties repaired—
Systems—settled in their Sockets—
Citadels—dissolved—

Wastes of Lives—resown with Colors
By Succeeding Springs—
Death—unto itself—Exception—
Is exempt from Change—
